Expectations & Responsibilities:
1. Everyone will be respectful to each other
2. Come to class ready to learn (You have a really BIG Regents to take in June!)
3. Try to be positive (even if you feel the coursework is hard…) You are in a REGENTS class, because… "you CAN do it!"
4. Always come to class fully prepared:
5. All Students will be required to be signed up for Mrs. Young’s Remind messages.
Parents should do the same. This will keep you informed of upcoming homework assignments, tests, quizzes, essays etc. that are being given, as well as due dates. I also send out Remind messages for class announcements, such as extra-help information (Instructions on how to sign up for Remind are attached).
6. Students usually receive a Homework packet only ONCE EVERY WEEK. This homework packet will usually be due every Thursday, unless told differently. This will help you stay organized. Frequent REMIND messages will be sent out to “remind “you of upcoming assignments, tests, quizzes, essay outlines etc. and their due dates.
7. Please be in your assigned seat when the bell rings, have your binder open and open or pen and highlighter out.
8. You are expected to take and keep all notes and handouts in your binder. The more organized it is, the better you will do on the quarterly OPEN notebook tests and the quarterly exams. "Organization can be the key to your success."
9. Attendance is very important… The more you’re here the more you will learn. Lateness to class and/or class cuts will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action.
You are responsible for all classwork and homework. If you are legally absent, you must make up the work when you return to class from your absence. Late homework assignments will be accepted, however, you will lose 10 points for each day it is late (for up to 5 days).
If you are legally absent on the day of a test, the test must be made up after school or during your lunch period. You may NOT make up a test during class when you return from an absence, because you would be missing the lesson of that day.
**Cutting, or an illegal absence on the day of a test or quiz is an automatic “ZERO.”
**Lateness to class: 1st offense is a warning. Any lateness after the warning will result in an
assigned after-school detention.
10. Use of cell phone, ipod or any electronic device in class, will result in disciplinary action.
11. All attendance and class grades will be updated regularly on eSchool. Make sure you and your parents have that set-up.
